My family hates to travel with me.
I turn into Mr. Villazon, I mean, Bean unpacking for the hotel/apartment stay. I spend more of my year in them so I gotta make it a little homey. I don't usually put nails in the walls, but I have been known to drill screws into window frames to hang black out curtains on (I travel with a roll of thick black garbage bags for this necessity). And all of this must be done the moment I arrive. It's a compulsion I don't fight.
I arrived in Buenos Aires a few days ago after a 300hour flight from Berlin. Ok, it was more like 24. I had happened to get major claustrophobia in the flight too. Lately I've been picking window seats on long over night flights. Big mistake.
So arriving at the hotel provided for the Boccanegra artists, was pleased to see it was 5 stars. Very happy they were taking care of us so well. Left to my own devices I don't usually stay in 5 star, but max out at 4. Gotta bring home the bacon, not spend it. But since they were providing, I wasn't complaining.
And then I walked in my room.

I happen to love wood floors. Having grown up in Arizona and always having carpet in the house, really prefer it. I was very pleased that the room had it. Until the next day. The entire night the person upstairs drug their chair across the floor making a terrible scraping sound. I finally called management and screamed in the phone to tell the person upstairs to shut the bloody H up. I felt better, but the sounds haven't stopped. Oh well. There's always ear plugs.
Now if I could just do something about the view....
| Chateau D'If had a better view, I'm sure. |

Good to see you back in the loop. Too bad that you don't have more Adorno's lined up. That's a part that both fits your voice impeccably and you sing it wonderfully.
Your sched is not up to date, but operabase suggests your two major role debuts next year: Don CarloS (in French) and Hermann (in Russian obviously), both in a span of a couple of months. Wowza!
How was your Lisbon experience?
I understand your family 100%. I also hated to travel with my huaband who used to travel all over the world. My friends envied me, because they don't know what it is.
Wow, you can see the set for the Tcherniakov Boccanegra from your window!
