The best thing about matinee's? Being home in your apartment in your pajamas by 8pm. Today's performance was numero cinq. We're at the halfway point and there's never a dull moment.
I was very pleased to receive some flowers from Geert Van Canegem, one of the figurants upon arriving this evening. Got kinda misty eyed from the thoughtfulness.
So when I was leaving the theater, took the opportunity to rub Kundry's nose in it. She had received the loudest curtain call (don't think for a moment singers don't measure these things. We actually keep score. And then sms our managers about whether or not we got the loudest one…). Leaving my dressing room, I heard voices in Anna's dressing room, so I knocked and popped my head in. I notice she's got a couple ladies in there with her, and take the opportunity to say:
"In light of the fact you got the loudest applause this evening, I thought I'd take the opportunity to point out that Geert brought ME flowers today. And not you."
To which she motioned behind the door. Flowers.
Sometimes you just can't win. No matter how needy.

very funny Andrew! ;-) I think Geert will be pleased to read/hear this!
by the way: as you suggested on FB, I won't be there tonight, still too ill, and I don't wanna infect others.
it's hard, this flu, but even more not being able to be part of the show tonight!
still 5 to go!
Bruno
Yes, I am very pleased to read this. Thanks Andrew !!!
Ohhh, Bruno I/we will miss you this evening. I can imagine that you don't want to miss the show, but it is indeed better to stay home and not infecting others.
Take care ! See you again on friday.
Geert
